Dog grooming can be a battle of wits at the best of times. You know your dog needs a trim, but he is just not having it! That’s why choosing a decent set of dog clippers can make the process so much easier.
Here I’ve ranked 4 of some of the best 2-speed clippers from Andis, in my opinion.
All of them are great for trimming, but I’m sure you will be keen to see which I would choose.

Comparison of 4 Andis 2-Speed Dog Clippers
4. Andis AGC 2-Speed Pet Clipper with No. 10 Blade
Model #: 22340
The ACG with No. 10 blade makes my #4 in this rundown of my choice of Andis clippers.
This product, which has been designed for shorter trimming, relies on a high-powered pivot motor clipper that provides MUCH more power than that of a comparable magnetic clipper.
The superior quality blades don’t get rusty and the product’s pretty much perfect when trimming around the ears and face. The result? You get the job done faster, and your pooch stays happy.
The only minor quibble? The price is a little more expensive than cheaper brands but the quality justifies it.
3. Andis 2-Speed Detachable Plus Pet Clippers
Model #: 22215
This compact animal clipper comes with a strong rotary motor that’s been designed for heavy-duty use – but best of all, it’s really, really quiet! You know that loud, horrible-sounding noise that you get with cheap clippers? None of that here!
With 2 high quality blade speeds (2700 and 3400 strokes per minute), you’ll be able to clip your pet easily, even if your dog has a thick coat.
I was really impressed with the detachable blades that allow for quick and easy cleaning, which are made from a high carbon steel.
A decent product, and it gets extra marks for often having a cheaper list price than the Andis AGC with No. 10 blade.
2. Andis AGC Super 2-Speed Professional Animal Clipper (with Locking Blade)
Model #AD405 79
If your dogs hate the buzzing sensation of a cheaper clipper, they’ll love this easy-to-use trimmer, which comes with more features than you can shake a stick at.
This AGC 2-Speed Clipper feels comfortable to use, even when trimming a long coat, and works with all Ceramic Edge and Ultra Edge blades. Yes, the blades need to be oiled on a regular basis, but that’s pretty much standard across the board.
Want to know what my favorite feature was? The fact that it was so simple to change the blades (sometimes with other brands they go on so tightly, it’s difficult to get them off).
I liked the way this clipper sounded and felt, but there’s another Andis product that’s just edged this to make my #1. In fact, this lost out on a few marks just because it’s a bit heavier and bulkier than our winner.
1. Andis AGC Super 2-Speed Professional Animal Clipper
Model #: 22360
Drum roll please! In at #1, for me, is the Andis AGC Super 2-Speed Clipper. Yep, this pet clipper pretty much does it all.
We couldn’t fault it for noise or effectiveness, and just like the Andis AGC with No. 10 blade, it’s great for quick touch-ups around the tail, feet, face, and ears.
Because it has shatter-proof casing, the clipper fits perfectly in your hand, and comes with a 4×4 blade drive for 25 percent more torque – pretty impressive, right?
Then there’s the UltraEdge Blade for even more accurate trimming.
Versatile and jam-packed full of features, the Super 2-Speed Clipper is a worthy winner on our countdown.
